Entry-level digital cameras use CCD arrays with better resolution than your brain's imaging system if these experiments and calculations are to be believed. Well of course (cameras don't have peripheral vision or foveal spots). More proof that one of the things the brain does is tell (justified, useful) lies to itself a lot[7].
