Carbon footprints have hair

It'll soon be time for a more sophisticated analysis. Two carbon footprints might be the same magnitude, but shape will become more important. If you live a solar-powered life but spend carbon on exotic organic foods shipped halfway round the world, while I live a 1990-style carbon-belching existence but pay shambling Third World states to plant carbon-offsetting trees for me - are we the same?
