The iceberg may have sunk the Titanic but it wasn't the root cause

Theory that the Titanic was going full pelt through a known iceberg region that night because they had a smouldering fire in one of the coal bunkers. The only way to deal with such a fire in an 800 tonne pile is to use up the coal on top quicker than the fire spreads.
